Maestro Kurt Rodarmer's Lute project
Kurt is a very special client. why ?
If we have a piece of music for piano, and we want to play it on a
guitar, obviously we'll have to trim and cut in order to fit the
music on the instrument. But with Kurt its different. He doesn't
touch the
originality of the music. For him the composition is the main thing,
and the instrument is just a tool to deliver. So, the tool needs to
be built for the music.
This time, we're working on a lute, 26 strings. With mechanical
cello pegs. I cannot say much at this point, because I'm still back
and forth
with Kurt, trying to finalize all the details. I'll do my best to
keep you updated on a weekly basis.
At this point i can only say the lute will be made of black
ebony. and *makasar* ebony. delivered by mr. Tod from allied
luthery who accompany the project and promised to give the project
the best woods that money can buy.
Stay tuned for more info when the right time comes.
I have such a joy working with Kurt, that I should probably pay him
for the chance to build this instrument.
